Our Daily Bread

Last night we sat down for our family meal. Tommy has learned to say the blessing and we encourage him. When he gets off track I will correct him and he finishes the prayer. He starts, "God is great. God is good. Let us thank Him for our food. By His hands we all are fed. Give us Lord our daily bread... Amen. As he gets to the daily bread portion of the prayer I hear some movement coming from his seat. I glanced over to make sure he was not going completely a rye during prayers, and noticed he had turned around to point to the bag of sandwich bread on the kitchen
counter. In his mind our daily bread comes in the "Wonder" variety. After he went to bed Patty and I had a good laugh at his wonderful prayer.

Easter 2011

After services at St. John's the Ayres family went to Lee Ann's for a great dinner. After we ate the kids had a grand Easter egg hunt in the front yard.

Danny did not care for the eggs but he loved the card his Grandmother sent him. It was the funniest thing how he would laugh and talk to the bunny.

We all had a wonderful time.

Danny's Baptism

Daniel Patrick Ayres received the sacrament of Holy Baptism on April 10, 2011. He was very quiet and Tommy was extremely curious. The members of St. John's were very gracious in receiving the newest member.

Bishop Joe administers the sacrament.

Tommy said during the service, "Why are you getting my brother wet."

Lee Ann might try to steal him you have to keep and eye on her.

April Weekend

This weekend has been a bit difficult as I have been sick with some sort of cold and the boys are both on steroids for allergies. Tommy is not a friendly person when he is on this medication. He has “roid-rage”. Tommy did give us a good laugh this weekend when he looked over the rail of Danny’s bassinet and in a deep voice began to sing, “Oh Danny Boy”. Patty has been so kind to us all this weekend. Fortunately these medications will be ending on Monday and the peak of the particular tree pollen will have passed. Danny has started smiling when we talk to him. He has a funny little grin as if he knows something which you do not know. He is a good little boy. Because I did not get out this weekend I finished a replica of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the one in New York City, it took about 8 weeks to finish but I used a great deal of weekend finishing the spars on top.

The Bear Brothers

These are some photos that Tommy and Danny had done today.

It's hard to believe Danny is one month old today.

Tommy started soccer lessons at school this week.

Danny's First Bath.

Danny's umbilical remnant fell off and he was ready for the first bath. Tommy, Patty and I gathered in the kitchen with the wee baby. Danny did not appreciate the bathing experience as much as the rest of us who watched and giggled. Tommy helped by moving the hose over his brother to remove the soap.

Tommy and the Crustacean.

Saturday Tommy and I were in the local grocery store. As we began to move through the meat section Tommy found the lobster tank. As boys will do he started tapping on the tank and taunting the beastly creatures. After he tired of that he began to poke his finger in the hamburger meat. I quickly corrected him. But he could not resist touching each pack of meat. I looked at him and said, "Tommy, if you do not stop I will put you in the lobster tank!" Tommy looked up at me with a shocked expression and begged, "No! Please don't put me in there..." he was horrified that I would even suggest such a thing. I agreed not to put him in the tank and he agreed not to bother the perishables.
